It's Done!
I am so excited. Aeolian the 2nd is finally done. I save finally because I have been so sick that I couldn't finish the last few rows for days. But now that I am on the mend it is done and blocked.

The colors came out how I had hoped and the red even changed where I wanted it to.

I even liked it enough to take a modeled shot. And not one of those arms out, backside ones.

I also finished spinning the yarn for Pampas.

I am a little shy on yardage per the pattern so I will just have to make sure I end soon enough to do the other border and bind off.
Here's a close up.

I also decided on beads that are on the way but not here yet so knitting is at a standstill for now.
Since I have no knitting to work on I am spinning. I am currently working on the AllSpunUp spin along fiber that I got.

The color is great and it is superwash merino so I am going for a 3ply sock yarn. We will see how close I come. I almost always do 2ply so this will be fun to see if I can get the singles thin enough for my finished yarn.
I also bought some great new patterns like Nefertiti so I need to dye and spin some more lace weight.

April
Since I have been having so much fun with my handspun Aeolian #2 I thought I would share pictures.

It is farther along then this but getting a shot of it on the needles is getting harder and harder. The melding colors really seemed to work and in person I really love it. I am almost to the edging which I am doing the alternate version of so I don't run out of yarn. The edging on this shawl uses up an amazing amount of yarn. My last one used up almost 65% of the total amount of yarn I started with. Crazy, I know.
I also finished the Poppy Flower Fiber yarn.

I ended up with about 490yards of light fingering yarn. Maybe socks with this one. We will see.
I also signed up for a pattern club of sorts. You get a pattern every other month for a total of 4 and a 5th bonus one at the end of the year. Way cheaper then any yarn/pattern of the month club plus I can stick to my handspun quest. I have even sold some yarn, which was liberating.
The first pattern is called Pampas and I just love it. I have decided to spin the yarn for it and I am not sure I will use the whole amount of beads it calls for, 5000, but I will use some. Here is the roving.

I think the color will be perfect. Close to what the designer used but totally my own.
Stay tunded for finished shots of Aeolian, hopefully next week.
