Not Feeling It

I started on the Lacy Nightie/Cami the other night but I just wasn't feeling it. I got about 6 rows done and said, blah. I could not see myself ever getting it done. So now I am left with 750 yards of super nice bamboo yarn. I hunted for something else to do with it and came up with something I hope will work. It is a White Lies Design that ended up on DIY for free. It is called the Alene Camisole but I am making a few modifications to it.

Here is the back all done and I am moving on to the front. That part I am leaving alone since it seems fine. The bottom is where I plan to modify. See the original is open on the lower front half, that is just not my style. My plan is to close it up and make it more of an empire waisted baby-doll style top. I hope it works and looks halfway descent.

I am also looking for something cute for summer that I can do with my 4 balls of leftover Calmer. I love this yarn and can not possibly let it languish in the stash. It must be used. I might even be able to do something with a contrasting color to make up yardage or maybe I will just take a ball of what I have and try to match it at the LYS. Off white shouldn't be too hard to match, right? Any super cute sleeveless or short sleeve tops you have seen out there?

I love your ideas for the White Lies cami, and i am so glad you gave the link to the free pattern!
As for the Calmer, what about Cleo form knitty? http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEsummer03/PATTcleo.html
A bit racy, but it should work for the gauge and amount of yarn you have.

It's too bad you're not having fun with the cami. It's very cute! I made the Nichole lingerie and bikini panti from there and loved it! I used Lorna's Laces Lion and Lamb yarn....heaven!

I have a GREAT idea for you for a short sleeve busty item. I'll be starting one for me VERY soon. I'll email the pattern to you!
