Socktober
So Socktober is almost over and I have finished my socks!

They are Yarn Chef Mulligatawny in Orange Sherbert and I knit them on size 2.5mm needles. I guess this translates to a 1.5 in US sizes. Who knew there were so many different 1's and 2's. Guess I usually use 4's for lace and they only seem to come in one size. I really love them and they fit perfect. I will definitely be knitting another pair of socks soon. In fact I just might already have a pair going.

Socks!
Just waiting for their toes.

Don't look too closely at the toes. Those are "in training" feet. Only 3 more weeks until the big walk.

Stole and Socks
It is finally DONE! Done knitting, done blocking and now photographed, the SotS3. Not the best shots since the wind is blowing here but you get the idea.

This shot is a better one of the color. It is a really light green with greys in it. I love the color but I am bummed the beads only show up in person. They are almost an exact match to the yarn which is nice for the subtle sparkle not so good for the camera.
I am also almost done with sock 2 of the Mystery Sock KAL. I have 6 more repeats to do on the second one and the next clue comes out tonight so I might have it done in time or at least close.

Gina asked about the yarn. It is Yarn Chef Mulligatawny in Orange Sherbert. It only has subtle color differences which I thought would be good with the pattern.
I also am almost done with the stealth project and I have started Boob Hat number 3. Once the stealth project is done then I can just concentrate on the socks and the hats. Much less scattered for me as I have been feeling a little crazy with all the projects going.

We've got hat and socks!
So like I said I have been spreading the knitting around a lot lately but I do have some stuff to show off. First, with no picture, is the SotS3 which is 10 rows shy of clue 8 being done. Then clue 9 on Friday and once that is done it is off to the blocking board.
Next is Boob Hat number one. This one will be mine since I wanted to use it to see size and placement of colors. I think it is a little deep for most people so I will start decreases sooner on the rest of them. Color-wise I am happy.

I didn't go too life-like on the colors as I wanted them to be fun but I think it will be recognizable. I also learned a new cast on, for me at least, for these hats and I love it. The alternate cable cast on is so nice for 1x1 rib. Is there a coordinating one for other rib counts?
I also have the Mystery Sock. I am doing it Magic Loop which I have no trouble with but since it is my first time doing a sock this way I did them on separate needles. Seems less scary for some reason.

The other one is done too and waiting on clue 2 which comes out tonight at midnight eastern. Guess that means I could technically print it out and do some tonight but I think the goal for tonight is to finish the SotS3 and cast on for another hat.

Mystery Sucker
Okay, so you have all now learned that I am a sucker for a Mystery KAL of almost any kind. Most have been shawls and are really how I caught the lace bug. I am still slogging along on SotS3 now done with hint 7 and only have 8 and 9 to go.

If both ends are to be the same then the last clue will be the fastest since it will be decreasing down so the end is in sight. Of course besides the 8 Boob Hats I want to make, this means new project time!
Just as a warning, I am not responsible if you fall out of your chair after the following statement.
I found a new, short Mystery KAL that I plan on doing. It is for a....SOCK! It was almost hard for me to type that as you have all heard me say NO SOCKS for me! But it is a mystery and maybe if I take it in baby steps or hints as they may be, I will like it. I actually have sock yarn that will work from a shawl I just could not stand so I plan to cast on tonight with clue 1. I wasn't going to do it if I didn't have something in stash and let me tell you my sock stash is very, very small. 5 skeins total. Sad I know, especially when I know someone with one of the most enviable sock yarn stashes around. So wish me luck and maybe I will finally get the allure of sock knitting. Who knows, it worked for lace!
