April
Since I have been having so much fun with my handspun Aeolian #2 I thought I would share pictures.

It is farther along then this but getting a shot of it on the needles is getting harder and harder. The melding colors really seemed to work and in person I really love it. I am almost to the edging which I am doing the alternate version of so I don't run out of yarn. The edging on this shawl uses up an amazing amount of yarn. My last one used up almost 65% of the total amount of yarn I started with. Crazy, I know.
I also finished the Poppy Flower Fiber yarn.

I ended up with about 490yards of light fingering yarn. Maybe socks with this one. We will see.
I also signed up for a pattern club of sorts. You get a pattern every other month for a total of 4 and a 5th bonus one at the end of the year. Way cheaper then any yarn/pattern of the month club plus I can stick to my handspun quest. I have even sold some yarn, which was liberating.
The first pattern is called Pampas and I just love it. I have decided to spin the yarn for it and I am not sure I will use the whole amount of beads it calls for, 5000, but I will use some. Here is the roving.

I think the color will be perfect. Close to what the designer used but totally my own.
Stay tunded for finished shots of Aeolian, hopefully next week.

Back on track...maybe...
I have really neglecting the blog lately. I have been doing a ton of stuff but just not posting about it. So here goes. Hopefully I won't leave anything out.
I finished Hamsa.

I liked it alot but I gifted it to a friend on Ravelry who is not a lace knitter. Loves to knit but swears she can't knit lace. Now she has hand knit lace.
I also knit Aeolian with the handspun from last time.

I love this shawl. It had to be one of the most fun knits I have done...ever. After I finished it I decided to spin yarn for another one.

I dyed this so I could do a color block 2 ply. It matches up perfectly in most areas but has areas where the plies are different so the color will slowly fade into the next color. Very fun to ply! I did start knitting the shawl too but it hasn't changed color yet so when it does I will get a photo.

I also spun this

into yarn for a friend.
This is how the yarn turned out.

She gave me this in return.

I also dyed this roving.

And I am currently spinning this one.

I have also decided that I want to sell alot of my stash and try to knit with more handspun. It makes for slower starts but it is kind of fun to control everything from start to finish. We will see how that goes but I am trying to make an effort. It is hard to let go of some of the yarn and I am not sure why but I am taking baby steps. You can see what I currently have for sale over on ravelry.
