Back on track...maybe...
I have really neglecting the blog lately. I have been doing a ton of stuff but just not posting about it. So here goes. Hopefully I won't leave anything out.
I finished Hamsa.

I liked it alot but I gifted it to a friend on Ravelry who is not a lace knitter. Loves to knit but swears she can't knit lace. Now she has hand knit lace.
I also knit Aeolian with the handspun from last time.

I love this shawl. It had to be one of the most fun knits I have done...ever. After I finished it I decided to spin yarn for another one.

I dyed this so I could do a color block 2 ply. It matches up perfectly in most areas but has areas where the plies are different so the color will slowly fade into the next color. Very fun to ply! I did start knitting the shawl too but it hasn't changed color yet so when it does I will get a photo.

I also spun this

into yarn for a friend.
This is how the yarn turned out.

She gave me this in return.

I also dyed this roving.

And I am currently spinning this one.

I have also decided that I want to sell alot of my stash and try to knit with more handspun. It makes for slower starts but it is kind of fun to control everything from start to finish. We will see how that goes but I am trying to make an effort. It is hard to let go of some of the yarn and I am not sure why but I am taking baby steps. You can see what I currently have for sale over on ravelry.

A Blog Post in Pictures
First up a sock I knit that doesn't fit well and I don't think I will knit the mate. Plan to rip it out and start over.

Socks I did finish that I think are very fun and cute.

Some roving I dyed and plan to spin as soon as I finish what I have going.

Roving I dyed forever ago and just spun. It went from this...

into this.

632 yards from just 5oz. It is a 2 ply that is really close to laceweight at about 25WPI.
I am currently spinning this...

into this.

I am also knitting this, Hamsa.

I think my next knitting project might be with some of the handspun but we will see for now this is enough. I have plans to dye more fiber as the spinning bug has been taking off again and I have a nice sized stash in white. It is hard not to buy it already dyed but I am being cheap, or maybe that is thrifty, lately.

Ravelry ate the blog
I keep saying I am going to post an update and then I get sucked into Ravelry and I forget. I am updated there on the projects but thought I would post them here too.
First off I finally spent some of my Christmas gift certificate to Spritely Goods. I got 2 of Stephanie's new yarn base Naiad.

and I also got some Shibui Sock.

I have not knit yet with the Shibui but let me tell you the Naiad is really nice. I mean REALLY nice stuff.
I have also knit a few pairs of socks. One was a mystery pair though the Sock Knitter Anonymous on Ravelry. They were for the January Sockdown and I liked how they turned out.

The beads make a regular pair of black socks look so much better.
I also knit a pair of plain old ribbed socks made much more fun by the yarn, Syncopation.

The latest pair to be finished is with the wonderful Naiad in Grape Jelly.

The pattern is Crystals,'Combs and Cables and is a free one. It looks great in this yarn with just the subtle color changes and the pattern is fun and easy to work. It also got me to do my first short row heel which came out well I think.
I also finally used my wheel the other day and finished a long, really long waiting skein. The singles have been done for months so I plied and then I sent it off as a surprise gift and never took a picture. Oh well, guess this means I just need to get back to spinning so I remember to take photos of finished yarn.
So that's it. Nothing really exciting except I did manage to score the holy grail of yarn.
