Picture Tagged!

I was tagged by Gina to do this.

Here are the rules:

* go to your 4th picture folder
* go to the 4th picture in the folder
* tell everyone 4 things about that picture
* tag 4 more people

My forth picture folder is: Roving to Yarn

The Forth picture is this one:
Berry Blitz Singles

It is kind of funny that this folder and picture came up. I have not spun anything in so long but have been thinking about it a lot lately. This particular skein actually ended up being a prize in my raffle to raise money for The 3 Day, something I plan to do again this year. It was also part of the Sweet Sheep Club which was great but I am pretty sure is not around any more.

It ended up looking like this.

Berry Blitz Handspun

It went to Keitha, whose blog I can not find anymore, but is on Ravelry as peaceangel.

How about, Amanda, Stephanie, Miriam and Megann as my tag-ees.

First FO of 2009

Happy New Year, everyone! I finished my Westside hat yesterday and blocked it last night and most of today. This thing did just not want to dry but the blocking made a huge difference so it was worth it.

Westside

I really love it. In fact it may be one of my favorite finished hats ever. I used Patons Classic Merino in the off white which has become my new go to color. I used magic loop and cabled without a cable needle. I think I need another one in a different color.

End of the Year Photos

Here is what I have been working on since my last post.

Basic Cable Hat
This one is out of Stitch and Bitch Nation. I did no mods on this one and used Patons Merino. It was a gift for my step-daughter.

Peek A Boo Mitts
These went with the hat. They are Peek-a-Boo Mitts. Since we are not huge mitten wearers I thought she would like the quick finger escape feature.

Baby Cable Fingerless Mitts
These were a last minute gift for my little guy's teacher. I really just winged them after reading some free patterns and used the baby cable pattern that I used on the socks I knit a few weeks back. It is super easy and fast to work but looks tough. My kind of fake out.

Yarn Daze Prairie
This is some yarn that I won from a blogless Raveler, CabinFour. As soon as I got it I knew it had to be Poinsettia from the newest Knitty.

Poinsettia
It didn't take long but was never something I got the hang of. It required the charts the whole time. I really don't like lace that I can't read after a while. Makes keeping your place challenging.

Thorpe
Here is the last project. Thorpe. I had wanted to make an ear flap hat as the Christmas hat but was told, "She will never wear one of those." Of course after I mentioned it on Christmas she proceeded to say she would LOVE one. So back to knitting I went. It turned out cute and very warm. Just what she will need for her visit to Washington DC in January.

I also have Westside on the needles. I really like how this one is coming along. I might even make a second one without the brim as I like the cables a lot.

I hope everyone has a great New Year. Our plan is to stay home and celebrate. No resolutions for me except to get back into a regular workout schedule and lose a few pounds but I seem to make that one every year. I have lots of knitting projects I would like to get done but no sweater-a-month goals. Here's to a great 2009, it has to be better then 2008!
