Mystery...again
So by now you have all figured out that I am a sucker for the mystery lace thing. I have joined almost all of them but not knit that many. I have to start when they do and finish the clue before the next comes out or I usually just give up. I seems that if I can't keep up then I never finish. So the next installment in the Secret of the Stole is on now. This is number 3 and I have knit the other 2 already so I figured I would do it again. Here is clue 1.

It is really hard to see in the picture that it has beads and the yarn has some color changes that make it look really nice in person. Hard to capture with the camera but once it gets larger I will try again.
Since the next clue is not out until Friday I am knitting on a hat I started right before clue 1 came out. It is from the latest IK, the Zigzag Beanie. I wanted to use yarn from stash again but came up with only one ball of Kid Silk Haze so I paired it with some leftover Zephyr from Hidcote. The gauge was all wrong of course so I casted on more stitches so it would fit and I am working away on that. It is the lightest and softest hat ever and the color is great since the Kid Silk is almost the same color as the darkest spots on the Zephyr. I hope it ends up looking as nice as it feels.

Latest Knits
I have been on a hat kick yet so here are the 2 newest. First up is Koolhaas. I love this hat. The cables are fun to do as long as you cable without a cable needle. Otherwise I think you could drive yourself insane.

The finished hat is so great looking that I am thinking of doing another.
The next is one I designed on the fly. It started out as a beret pattern that turned out HORRIBLE. I was ready to toss it into the pile of never worn knits and then thought maybe I could rip it back a little, knit a tighter band and add a brim. I now love it. My own Spiral Newsboy hat.

I used some handspun that I spun up so long ago I am not even sure where it came from. Guess I have to surf back through the blog to find it. I am thinking it might of been a Spunky Club roving but not positive. Oh well, the hat is great anyway.
Another hat is on the to-do list now to find just the right yarn. I am working with stash only which has been a lot of fun but tricky too.

The Herd
I haven't been here much but I have been knitting. Something fun and easy. Perfect for summertime knitting. Here they are.

Here they are on the move.

Gertrude.

And Brownie.

I think they are super cute and I love having 3 of them but I think I am done with them now.
I have also been working on The 3 Day. I started a team and we are currently just 2 but hopefully more coming soon. I found a lady from Tampa Bay who was helping people come up with logos for their shirts. This is our shirt.

I love how she used the "pink ribbon" in the middle of the bra. Very fun I think. I have been going after every one I know for donations and I really hope I can get to $3500. I already have enough money to walk so it is just a personal challenge now plus a cause I really believe in. My training has been going well usually starting at 5:30 am to beat the heat and now range from 5-8 miles 5 times a week. It is getting easier every day.
I think my next knit will be a hat I can wear at night at the 3 Day camp. Maybe Koolhaas or Shedir. Something a little more spicy then the elephants.
